Some of the links are likely to be referenced elsewhere in the toolkit, one one or more resources or examples. The purpose of this section is not to provide a detailed commentary on the resources, but some basic contextual information. Of course you are welcome to add more comment and detail. The sources cover archives, projects and organisations developing and hosting content.

Google Cultural Institute not open but significant in that is shows the potential off high quality interactive resources - recently some CC licensed collections have been added to the resources.
Open Music Library a new initiative from Alexander Street to build the world’s most comprehensive open network of digital resources for the study of music. Curated by a community of music scholars, it brings together peer-reviewed journal articles, books and scores from the world’s best digital collections.

Comic Book Plusa historically significant archive, of well known and not so well known comic characters - free and legal to use.
Shared Shelf Commons (Artstor) is a free, open-access library of images from museums, archives and libraries around the world.
Illustration Archive The Archive was created as a result of the lost Visions Project at Cardiff University, it features images from 18th and 19th Century books. The archive invites visitors to Tag the images using a slick visual tagging tool.
